Preventing spontaneous thrombosis of experimental sidewall aneurysms: the oblique cut.

چکیده
In our experience with the canine model, sidewall aneurysms made with an oblique-cut arteriotomy were less likely to thrombose than were those made with a standard technique.

Natural history of the canine vein pouch aneurysm model.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The canine vein pouch aneurysm model is widely used for testing and development of devices directed at the endovascular treatment of aneurysms. Our purpose was to determine the incidence of spontaneous thrombosis and rupture of these aneurysms. MATERIALS AND METHODS A retrospective review of laboratory records of canine vein pouch aneurysms made during a 6-year period w...

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Endovascular treatments for aneurysms are being used more frequently in patients in the absence of a large body of information on their histopathological effects. This study determined the efficacy and histopathological effects of treatment of experimental aneurysms with Guglielmi detachable coils (GDC) or cellulose acetate polymer (CAP). METHODS Fourteen dogs had 13 te...
متن کاملMorphological Distinguish of Rupture Status between Sidewall and Bifurcation Cerebral Aneurysms Caracterización Morfológica del Estado de Ruptura entre Aneurismas Cerebrales en Paredes Laterales y Bifurcaciones
We suspect that morphological change of two types of aneurysms in ruptured and unruptured aneurysms are distinguishing because of different location and haemodynamics. So it is necessary to discuss sidewall and bifurcation type aneurysms in ruptured and unruptured state respectively. We used 209 consecutive aneurysms (144 ruptured, 65 bifurcation type) to assess the following parameters in 3D: ...
متن کاملA novel two-stage technique for construction of experimental aneurysms.
A two-staged technique for construction of experimental aneurysms in swine is described. The jugular vein is initially anastomosed to the carotid artery. Spontaneous hypertrophy of the vein is modeled by placing restraining sutures to create a fusiform aneurysm. Subsequent endovascular closure of this aneurysm leaves a sidewall aneurysm pouch. Staging allows maturation of the anastomosis, and t...
